Mary Help of Christians, the Salesian Province, and the Diocese of St. Petersburg are fully committed to ensuring that children, young people, and vulnerable individuals who worship, study, or participate in activities sponsored by our Diocese, the Salesians, and by MHC can do so in the safest and most secure setting possible.
The Diocese of St. Petersburg has implemented the Safe Environment Program (SEP) in full compliance with theĀ USCCB Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People. The policies and procedures implemented by the Salesians are accredited by Praesidium, Inc., a national organization that works with religious and other institutions to establish and maintain rigorous standards for protecting children and vulnerable adults. At Mary Help, we follow both Diocesan and Salesian policies.
MHC is committed to creating and maintaining a safe environment for all who interact with our members and are involved in our ministries. We have put in place clear standards of conduct for all members as well as procedures for investigating and reporting any allegations of abuse or misconduct to the appropriate civil authorities. This includes training programs in place to educate involved parties on how they can protect our children, young people, and vulnerable individuals from abuse and we perform background screenings on all those individuals that volunteer or work with us.
Those interested in applying to volunteer at MHC should contact the parish office for an application and next steps.
